ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Color is my forte. It mirrors the wonder of the universe.
The magical
vibrations of light have a therapeutic effect on your mental and physical well being, subtly changing mood with every shift in prismatic tone. Thru the innovative subtleties of color found on these beautiful translucent silk creations, you can unite with spirit and experience the vibration of balance, harmony and joy. Enhance your beauty, grace and style with the luxurious and sensuous flow of the natural fibers of silk. Each scarf is uniquely designed.
The original motifs, beautiful landscapes and original as well as traditional Southwestern designs translate beautifully into wall hangings and wearable Art creations. Each one has been hand painted. I have painted the magnificent southwestern landscape for 25 years. It's fun to see people wearing them. These superb silks are one of a kind although they are similar in theme with subtle differences in color.
BACKGROUND
I grew up in the heart of Manhattan, NY. From early on I loved to paint. I studied at the Art Students League of NY in the 60's with some of the world's best known artists. I painted my heart out, received scholarships and went on to receive prizes in Graphics, Watercolors and Acrylics. I have shown my work nationally and internationally in OneWoman and Juried Exhibitions, most recently at the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, NM. My works are in many private collections.
Inspired by the mysteries of the Ancients, painting carried me Through the magical ruins, landscapes and communities of Europe, South America, North Africa and the Middle East. I became captivated by the monumental beauty of Northern New Mexico and settled in the small village of Pilar, NM surrounded by majestic cliffs and hugged by the Rio Grande River. Nurtured by the beauty and multi-cultural environment I continue to experiment with new techniques of silk painting and create exciting, exclusive silks. I love to teach and help people tap into their creative essence When I am not painting or teaching I do color consultations and practice color and gem therapy.
