Handmade Paper Ornaments
Taos Paperworks' line of original design paper ornaments are individually handcrafted from 100% cotton paper pulp. Mica, which has been gathered from the mountains of northern New Mexico, is added to the pulp just before each ornament is hand cast, imparting a subtle glint of metallic sparkle.
Strung with a raffia tie for hanging, these enchanting handmade paper ornaments are far too pretty to limit their display to holiday tree trimming. In addition to making great handmade Christmas ornaments, these unique ornaments make great gifts for any occasion (buy Mimbres Fish ornaments for the angler on your list, the Horse ornaments for the horse lover on your list, or the Elk ornament for the hunter on your list, for example). Here are some other ways to enjoy these hand-cast paper ornaments during the holidays and throughout the year:
- String a dozen ornaments on a silver ribbon and drape it across a mantle or window frame.
- Tuck them into Christmas cards or other special occasion cards as keepsakes.
- Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to an ornament and use it as a decorative aromatherapy diffuser.
- Hang one from your rearview mirror.
- Use them as napkin rings to create a unique tabletop setting.

The imagery in this collection is inspired primarily by ancient Native American designs of the Southwest.
Each design has been commissioned by emerging and established New Mexico artists. Each ornament measure approximately 4" in diameter, with the exception of the Lady of Guadalupe design, which measures 3" x 4.5."
