ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Dharma is a Sanskrit word. It means Truth, the Way, that which supports or upholds.I discovered how much I liked this travel utility bag when I used it while traveling for three months in India. You can carry your rations, books for the day, and maybe get a zafu cushion in for good measure!
At Taos Hemp, we believe in what we're made of: hemp. The outer shell and liner are 100% Romanian hemp. Hemp fiber is durable and attractive. Hemp can help save the planet. Hemp production uses less land, saves trees and fertilizes the soil. It is self-sustaining.
Taos Hemp contributes 1% of its profits to Sanmarga Dayasramam Orphanage in Tiruvannamalai, South India; 1% to Free Leonard Peltier; and 1% to Free Tibet.
BACKGROUND
I have traveled extensively in India, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Nepal and Thailand. I have worked as a shepherdess in Utah, a massage therapist in New Mexico, and designed and helped build my own solar-powered home west of Taos. I have several years of experience designing and manufacturing headgear and hemp products. I am a Buddhist practitioner.
